このアレクサンドラ・ロゼは、1987年に、ローラン・ペリエの当主ベルナール ドゥ ノナンクール氏が長女アレクサンドラの結婚を祝うために造られた、特別なミレジメシャンパーニュです。
1982年という歴史的な当たり年のミレジメシャンパーニュ「アレクサンドラ」は、結婚式のその場で発表され、大きな感動を集めました。
それ以来、このアレクサンドラ・ロゼはローラン・ペリエの誇る最高峰ロゼ・シャンパーニュとして生産が継続されていますが、当時と変わらぬこだわりが守られており、本当に優れた年にしか造られていません。
1998年が、6回目の「アレクサンドラ」となっています。
ブドウは全て特級格付けのものを使用します。
ピノ・ノワールはAmbonnay, Bouzy, Mailly, Verzenayから、シャルドネは Avize, Cramant そして Le Mesnil-sur-Ogerからのものを使用します。
ピノ・ノワールは赤ワイン造りと同様にマセラシオン（醸し）を行い、そこにシャルドネを加える作り方を行います。
シャンパーニュでは珍しい製造方法で、ピノ・ノワールとシャルドネが同時に熟す年である必要があり、かつ傑出した出来栄えが必要であるため、生産年が非常に限られた作品となっています。
ベルナール ドゥ ノナンクール氏は、現当主であり長女アレクサンドラの結婚（1987年）を機に彼女の名を冠する「プレステージ ロゼ シャンパン1982」を、結婚式のまさにその場で発表しました。
父親から娘への想いを伝えるために・・・・。
