ルクセンブルク、ストラスブール、ブリュッセル、ハーグの音楽院でクラシック・パーカッション、ジャズ・ヴィブラフォンと音楽学を学び、ストラスブールのマルク・ブロッホ大学で音楽学の修士号を、ハーグ王立音楽院でジャズ・ヴィブラフォンを中心とした音楽の修士号を取得。
 　演劇や映画のための音楽を書き、ジャズ・カルテットを率い、エモーショナルなクラシック音楽とミニマルな電子音をミックスもしています。
 　シューマッハーは、ルクセンブルク音楽院でジャズとクラシック・パーカッションの教授として在職。
　演奏者についてユナイテッド・インストゥルメンツ・オブ・ルシリン1999年に設立されたルクセンブルクで唯一の現代音楽専門の室内楽アンサンブル。
20世紀と21世紀の作品の普及と委嘱に特化し、年間約40回のコンサートを開催するほか、ルクセンブルク作曲アカデミーも主催。
 　現代オペラや音楽劇の分野では、ルクセンブルク大劇場と緊密に協力し、細川俊夫のモノドラマ「大鴉」なども上演。
ピット・ブロシウス（指揮）ルクセンブルク出身の指揮者。
