Oft sind wir uns ihrer vielleicht ?berhaupt nicht wirklich bewusst, lassen uns von ihnen zu un?berlegten Handlungen treiben, die wir sp?ter unter Umst?nden bereuen oder stehen ihnen sogar ohnm?chtig gegen?ber. Es gibt Menschen, f?r die dieses Ohnmachtsgef?hl gleichbedeutend mit subjektivem Leidempfinden ist, da sie sich nicht als Herr ihrer Gef?hle wahrnehmen. Andere wiederum erleben wir als ausgesprochen 'herzlos' oder 'emotionslos'. Wie auch immer man an diese Thematik herangeht, auf alle F?lle sind Emotionen ein zentrales Element unseres Lebens, das durch sie erst seine Farbe zu gewinnen scheint. Doch inwiefern sind wir eigentlich selbst an ihrem Entstehungsprozess beteiligt? Welchen Einfluss hat unser Denken auf das subjektives Emotionserleben und umgekehrt? Gibt es neben der wissenschaftlichen Psychologie noch andere 'Theorien', die sich mit dem Zusammenhang des Denkens und der Emotionen besch?ftigen? Das alles sind Fragen, mit denen sich der vorliegende Essay besch?ftigt, wobei vor allem eine komparative Gegen?berstellung psychologischer mit bisher noch recht unerforschten Zen-Buddhistischen Ansichten entstehen soll. Zur?ckgreifen kann ich in diesem Bereich auf eine inzwischen fast zweij?hrige Erfahrung als praktizierender Buddhist, wobei ich mit diesem Essay stets dem Versuch unterliege, einen h?chstm?glichen Grad an Wissenschaftlichkeit zu erreichen.
